Privacy Policy
Dish Drop (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a mobile application that connects restaurants and delivery drivers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the Dish Drop app.
Information We Collect
When you create an account and use Dish Drop, we may collect:
- Account information — such as your name, email address, phone number, role (driver or restaurant), and restaurant name where applicable.
- Profile and onboarding details — information you provide during signup and account approval.
- Delivery information — pickup and drop-off locations (including addresses you enter or select on the map), customer phone numbers for coordination, delivery status, and related dispatch details.
- Location data — when you grant permission, we collect device location to support live maps, dispatch, and driver tracking while you are online or completing a delivery (see Location Data below).
- Device and push tokens — Expo push notification tokens and platform identifiers needed to deliver alerts to your device.
- Usage and diagnostic data — basic app interaction, error, and performance information to keep the service reliable and secure.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
- Match restaurants with available drivers and coordinate deliveries.
- Display maps, routes, and live driver positions during active deliveries.
- Send push notifications about delivery requests, acceptances, and status updates.
- Improve app performance, troubleshoot issues, and protect against abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of use.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the app (for example, with drivers and restaurants involved in a delivery) or as described in Third-Party Services below.
Location Data
Dish Drop uses location services to show maps, let you pick addresses, and share a driver’s live position with restaurants during active deliveries.
- Drivers — location may be collected while you are online or completing a delivery so restaurants can see progress on the map.
- Restaurants — location helps set pickup points and view dispatch maps.
- Your choice — you can control location access in your device settings. Some features may not work without location permission.
Location data is used for dispatch and delivery coordination and is not used for unrelated advertising purposes.
Push Notifications
With your permission, Dish Drop sends push notifications for time-sensitive delivery events, including:
- New delivery requests for nearby drivers.
- Confirmation when a driver accepts a restaurant’s request.
- Other delivery status updates relevant to your role.
You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings. On Android, notification channel settings may persist until you change them in system settings or reinstall the app.
Third-Party Services
Dish Drop relies on trusted third-party providers to operate, including:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and backend storage.
- Google Maps / Places — map display, geocoding, and address search.
- Expo / push notification services — delivering mobile push alerts.
- Expo Application Services (EAS) — building and distributing the app.
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and only to the extent needed to provide their services to us. We choose providers that maintain appropriate security practices.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure authentication.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately using the details below.
Your Choices
Account deletion. You can permanently delete your Dish Drop account at any time:
- Drivers — open the app, go to the Account tab, tap Delete account, and confirm. You must complete any active delivery before deletion.
- Restaurants — open the app, go to the Account tab, tap Delete account, and confirm. Active deliveries must be finished or cancelled before deletion.
When you delete your account, we remove your profile, authentication record, role-specific data (driver or restaurant profile), push notification tokens, and delivery request data associated with your account. Delivery history tied to other parties may be retained in anonymized form where needed for operational or legal purposes.
You can also contact us using the email below to request account deletion if you cannot access the app.
Location and notifications. You can disable location access or push notifications at any time in your device settings. Some features may not work without these permissions.
